2020 Winter Season Toss & Fetch League Commemorative Patch

Primum non nocere, fabula frisbee.

First, do no harm, play frisbee

Rocco Marinakis 2012 – July 8, 2020

How often have you heard a dog-sport civilian ask, “what kind of dog is that?” while pointing to a stubby, black, brown and gray, scruffy coated, pointy-eared ball of muscle as they shake-kill a frisbee before scurrying back for another throw?

“Why, that’s a cattle dog, and they dominate this sport! “

In fact, after Border Collies and Australian Shepherds, frisbee-crazy Australian Cattle Dogs are the most popular breed playing in the League.

This 2020 Winter Season patch salutes all the Cattle Dogs out there while paying tribute to a past champion and former League competitor, Rocco, the beloved ACD of Austin, Texas Club member Angelo Marinakis, who passed this summer at just 8-years-old.

“Rocco was a champion disc dog, an extraordinary training assistant and a stellar chiropractic office dog,” wrote Angelo in his tribute. “Though Rocco was in our lives for a relatively short time, he left a deep impression in our hearts that can never be replaced. Run free my dear, sweet, beautiful friend. We will always love you and we’ll never forget you.
