2021 Summer Season Toss & Fetch League Commemorative Patch

Thanks to the pioneering efforts of Skyhoundz, Ashley Whippet, USDDN and UFO, the original Big 4 Disc Dog organizations, the sport of K9 Frisbee expanded worldwide in the last 20 years with Clubs and major competitions established throughout Asia, South America, and Europe.

However, for no known reason, disc dogging never took hold on the big islands of the United Kingdom. That all changed three years ago when Sandra Walsh raised her hand to Captain a K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch Club in Stoke-On-Trent, England to join our Worldwide League in the 2018 Spring Season. Soon, word spread and K9 Frisbee Clubs began to form throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Today, there are a dozen UK Clubs in our worldwide League but many have been sidelined because of COVID. But restrictions are easing in the UK, as they are in other parts of the world, and to welcome them back we’ve selected a UK dog to honor on the Summer 2021 Season patch – Mr. T, the beloved Spanish Water Dog of Pauline Jackson, Captain of the Hull, England K9 Frisbee Club.

Mr. T’s love for Frisbee led Pauline to found the Hull Club in the Winter of 2018, England’s 3rd K9 Frisbee Club. Mr. T went on to play in nine K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch League seasons until his retirement in late 2020, just six months before he passed this past March.

Stoke Captain Sandra Walsh provided this remembrance of Mr. T:

“Mr. T was a foster with Pat and Gill, who are members of our Stoke Club, before he went to Pauline. He was a very troubled dog who desperately needed a soulmate, someone who understood him. He found what he was searching for in Pauline.

Mr. T lived to “play” and put his little heart and soul into everything he did. Pauline was his perfect partner. He raced at his first British Flyball Championships in 2014 and won many titles. He’s taken a piece of so many hearts over that bridge with him. Pauline gave him the life he deserved. He will be remembered as the ‘living life to the fullest’ kind of boy and we will all miss him.”

Run free and fly high Mr. T, we all salute you.
