Esprit, Camaraderie et Plaisir au Québec!
Honoring Mao: The Spring 2025 Patch Dog

The Spring 2025 Season K9 Frisbee Worldwide League Patch celebrates the heart of disc dogging in Quebec—Spirit, Camaraderie, and Fun! These values have been at the core of Suzanne Lapointe’s passion for growing the sport across the province, making disc dogging more accessible, welcoming, and exciting for everyone.

This season’s patch proudly features Mao, Suzanne’s beloved Border Collie, who has played 18 seasons in the League and inspired so many teams with her love for the game. Set against a backdrop of the Canadian maple leaf inset with the fleur-de-lis, the design represents the strength and unity of the Quebec disc dog community.

Even before joining the League, Suzanne has been a driving force in growing disc dogging across Quebec. As a judge and ambassador for the Canadian Disc Dog Association (CDDA), she has worked tirelessly to introduce and inspire new players. Encouraged by Dominique, founder of the L’Avenir League Club—the first in Canada, Suzanne jumped at the chance to establish the Montreal League Club, helping expand the sport to new communities.

Her impact didn’t stop there. In 2020, she helped launch the Lévis, Quebec League Club, which has since grown into Canada’s top-performing League Club. Thanks to her dedication, Quebec now boasts over 15 active League Clubs, with more than 375 Quebecois K9 Frisbee Teams competing in the past year alone.

“Our Montreal Club may not be the highest ranked, but what makes us special is our spirit, camaraderie, and love for the game,” says Suzanne. “At first, people were intimidated, but now they play for the pure joy of spending time with their dogs and each other. They support, encourage, and inspire one another—and that’s what this sport is all about.”

As Mao steps into a well-earned retirement, Suzanne introduces her next rising star, Thaï, who will carry on the Frisbee legacy and add dock diving to their list of adventures. But Mao’s impact on Quebec’s disc dogging community will never be forgotten.

A Legacy to Celebrate
This Spring, we honor Mao and the incredible spirit of Quebec’s disc doggers with a patch that symbolizes the joy, unity, and passion of the sport. Congratulations to Suzanne, Mao, and every team who makes this community so special!
