2021 Summer Down Under Season Toss & Fetch League Commemorative Patch

After the crappy year the whole world had in 2020, we could all use some good Karma.

We’re going to mark the start of a new and better year, when the K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch Worldwide League kicks off 2021 with Summer Down Under Season, with this patch dedicated to Karma, Toronto Club member Gordon Cheung’s amazing frisbee-loving Doberman who died in her prime when this unforgettable year began.

In February, Gordon posted, “Last night, out for her last walk, Karma got whiff of a rabbit and pulled with excitement. Today, she passed peacefully in our arms. Her battle with cancer is over, and we are heartbroken. At seven years young, she had more to do and more discs to catch.”

On the Toss & Fetch field, Team Gordon & Karma were among the world’s elite. On the freestyle floor, their grace, strength and style always brought a smile.

Rich Williams, the Toronto K9 Frisbee Club Captain, remembers Team Gordon & Karma this way:

“Way back in 2013, the phone rang. On the other end of the line was a man who I had never met. He introduced himself as Gordon and told me that he wanted to know everything there was to know about my disc dog events.

“He told me that he had a Doberman who could catch a disc and he wanted to come out and play.

“His dog’s name was Karma and play they did. The first time I laid eyes on that sleek, elegant creature…I was in love.

“For the next seven years, Gordon and Karma were fixtures at Toronto events, winning most of them. Today, we say goodbye to this wonderful lady and my world is a little sadder. But I thank her for her contributions to the world of disc in Ontario and Canada.”

Gordon concluded his tribute to the dog that started him on his K9 Frisbee journey with, “She left a legacy. She inspired. In a world of border collies, a rescue Doberman stood out. There will be no other Doberman like Karma. Ever. All loved her.”

RIP Karma. April 4, 2012, to Feb 20, 2020
